Also a friend of mine has a modified Limbo 21 that is sitting down the back of the West Pier in Howth. ... it might just be a matter of paying the outstanding storage fees to the harbour master and the boats yours as he just wants it off his hands. Trailer? What rig, sails, mast boom etc. if any does she come with? I'm assuming the inside has no electronic equipment but what about bedding, sink, A small hole will cost 500-1k to fix and get a surveyor give it the nod for insurance purposes. I wonder if i gave the harbour master a call would he tell me the outstanding charges and get a crane in for free to trailer her if she is not on a trailer? A hour for a crane might be a few hundred even if you can get one nearby just for an hour. she looked great though in her prime. Vwery like the 6.6. I wonder what the difference is? stewart designsed quick light boats. Here is a 30 footer of his rated greater than 1.000 in IRC and clocked at over 24 knots over the ground - on sale for less than £20k? www.clarkeandcarter.co.uk/brokerage-boats/searchfullspecs.php?DocumentID=4085601#.UQCDIWeeN0U

as far as i remeber she has a trailer and is lying up on it. not sure what condition it is in but even if you had a better tariler you would probably get it over to hyc and be able to crane it onto another more road worthy trailer. the rig is the same as in the photos. a skinny single spreader rig with runners and jumper struts. Quantum main and no 1 were bought in 2006 but kites and other sails are old. She did get a paint job in 2006 aswell up in malahide boat yard. Her last IRC rating was .887 in 2007. Inside is spartan and not comfortable. The keel is glassed into the hull and comes up through the cabin sole. I think there was a nav station but its been so long since I sailed it I cant remember. If you get the dart over from Bray shes only a few minutes walk from the station. Try the harbour master and see what he says if you look at her and are interested. If theres problems with him and your interested let me know and I can arrange somthing for you. If you are interested in the other boat that needs putting back together let me know by pm

Was down in howth a while ago and popped down to have a look at te boat. It's in a locked pen so couldn't get in close to have a look. Hull looks ok starboard side needs a bit of filler, doesn't look like hills been priced by the trailer. However the trailer is totally unsuitable for the boat. It's for a much bigger boat so you would need to get it in onto a trailer to drive it home. Could be easily done in hyc however the current trailer is missing a wheel. I took a few photos which I will try post somewhere later.

Go Now was modified from a Limbo 21 that went quite well, back around the mid 90's. Sailing on the river Medway. She looked fantastic but sailed like a dog never sailing to her handicap, certainly not as fast as she looked. I think the guys gave up and moved on to a First Class 8. She changed hands and didnt seem to do any better, then left the river.

Put some photos of Go Now/Addison up on the link below. www.flickr.com/photos/61992566@N03/sets/72157632602918396/she was quick downwind in a blow we used to have great fun putting the kite up and scooting off behind the 1/4s who were chicken to stick a chute up. Got stuffed upwind in a fleet coz she was so small but could point well when you got the keel working

I have a foot on her, same designer, and figure 830 or thereabouts.

she was quick downwind in a blow ... Got stuffed upwind in a fleet coz she was so small but could point well when you got the keel working Sounds just like my Limbo but Im still learning how to handle her. Im thinking now if I sort out the mast rig and the keel winch problems I have that I have more to gain from learning how to point and pinch her better and that downwind should be a doddle to get the hang of. when I get broad reaching or a run with following sea waves of three or or more height she really surges. IT is the fighting upwind against those waves that are the hard miles. "Clunk clunk clunk" goes the swing keel as I try to feather her and prevent her slamming the prow into the next trough. Broke the winch clutch. Replaced it with a standard trailer winch. Thinking about a reaching assymetric spi. If and when I get her going and get a regular crew watch out!

Runners and check stays add serious numbers to an irc rating. Last irc rating for my boat which has double spreader, runners, checks and jumpers was .890. An e boat rates about .824 and toy got .837. Alot of the 1/4s ditched the old rigs for more modern swept backs and non over lapping and brought their ratings down significantly.

Just heard today that the little limbo is sold. It went for next to nothing. Toy Yot has a simple irc friendly single spreader rig with no checks or runners so her irc rig factor is quite low.

Just heard today that the little limbo is sold. It went for next to nothing. Toy Yot has a simple irc friendly single spreader rig with no checks or runners so her irc rig factor is quite low. Still my Limbo rating ( and I also have single spreader) is three points higher. I have no clue currently as to how I could even try to keep up let alone get ahead of you. The only thing on my side is I know I can go better. If the rating is anything to go by I can go way way better but single handed I figure Im somewhere around 800 to 810. So that as 2-3% improvement to get to 830. And I reckon a half decent crew will do that better than any sort of tweaking to rig sails etc. Still - thats a minute and a half per hour. LOL If I even got my starts right Id be half way there:) Any chance of Toy Yot lending me their crew? Actually the handicappers would probably add on 7% for that!

I'm having June in UK to try to get Secondanita ready for August 17th. New problem identified is a split lower spreader tip. By the end of the month I will know when I can at last sail her.

Discovered yesterday that Ludo Isaert in Gravelines/Dunkerque now has his Rivetto "Funky shit" ready and sailing, looking good and going well. And...
painted a beautiful pale blue similar to Secondanita
be very nervous when Squadra Azurra eventually hit the MTC!

;D Very glad to read about Funky Shit ! Yes after 2 years working on her (new spar, new epoxy underwater hull after osmosis treatment, some structure reinforcement...) she's done 2 regattas in september results : 1/7 and 2/19.. She still doesn't have an IRC rating, I'm racing HN (french rating) for the moment. I think we will spend a moment racing this way, kicking some quarter's ass and keeping working on having her totally prepared. Once I'll be ready, I'll cross the channel for sure. (Thinking of Ramsgate Week and of course the MTC ! but I don't know yet if it will be for 2014 or 2015) Time and money will decide...
pictures coming soon
