Hi All,
I've just been looking at the list of entrants this year and I see a couple of IRC Mini Tonners haven't got Mini Tonner listed in their boat type. (Shallott and Glass Onion etc ....)
If you want to be included as an entrant for the "Kemp Sail's - Mini Tonner's R.T.I. Trophy" (A very smart shiny thing it is too!) then you do need to get this amended.
Incidentally, the Sonatas have there own IRC Class trophy.
After the race the ISC will scour the list for boats with (Mini Tonner) in their boat type and award the prize at the official prizegiving - on this basis only!
I'll be aboard 'Meg' this year trying to be first MT around in the ISCRS class... We don't have a prize for this division yet - unless anybody wants to put one up and then we'll award it informally....But loudly on the Forum ;D ;D ;D

I've just done a search on 'mini tonner' on the website and realised we weren't there...
...because I put 'mini-tonner'.
I trust this still counts?
Currently the list is quite small which suggests there are mini-tonners and mini tonners out there who haven't amended their entry?

Well done to all the RTI Mini Tonners....10 entered under IRC and 5 finishers - so quite hard conditions for the smaller boats this year. It was pretty exciting out there! We had fun on Dream On, but sailed pretty conservatively after a massive kite drop cock up in the St Cats swell resulting in loosing the halyard, but not before we recorded 11.5 knots through the water, staying at over 10 for minutes at a time. Brown trousers for us guys who are more used to the sheltered waters of Poole! Really pleased to be second Mini tonner, and am now looking forward the the Mini Ton Cup even more!!

Trying to identify a boat racing in RTI. I think it was a mini tonner, Small and dark blue, using a small very distinctive blue jib. Were you "Magic Bus"? We rounded Benbridge with you and Glass Onion, and sailed up the solent near each other. I was on my Blue Fox terrier "Dream On"

Congratulations to those who went, especially as so far as I know, the MTs who did were unscathed and got good results.
We decided not to go. We knew how bad it would be around the back of the island and thought discretion the better part of valour. I think 438 retirements endorses that decision.
I'll do a write up ASAP. If anyone would like to post photos or quotes here then I'll put an press release together and we'll see if we can't get on Y&Y and Cowes Online again.

What a day!
I had prepared myself for the worst, and is wasn't as bad as expected most of the time. But the carnage at St. Cats was about as bad as expected.
I think this is how I managed to win the sonata salver, as we watched two sonatas wipe out in front of us at St. Cats and saw no more of them for the rest of the race. I hope they are all ok.
We saw a lot of mini-tonners on the way round, but the memorable one was Energia with whom we switched places with a number of times. Unfortunately we just couldn't get far enough away to beat them on corrected.
I'm not sure I'd do the race again in those conditions, but I'm very pleased that we did this time.
Olly

hitt boy i would like to i dentify that same minitonner with the blue jib they were sailing sailing very fast and smart without a spinnaker down the back of the island. we had a fantastic time had real battle with glass onion, 'blue jib' and a red sonata which i assume was high note. loved the conditions bud did get placed on our side round st cats and almots lost mark on the sheet overboard. cant wait for the MTC now
