grr - dont you just hate em?
Legend (limbo 6.6) currently uses a Yamaha 4HP 4 stroke long shaft that is proving to be pretty unreliable for various reasons. Getting fed up with chasing problems around. Can anyone suggest a suitable alternative for new or second hand replacement?
cheers

Hi, I've had good service from a Tohatso 5hp 2 stroke standard shaft used in a well.
A question or two; do you have an outboard well? Is the motor on a moving bracket on the stern? In either case, a long shaft may not be needed. What's more, immersing an outboard motor too deep can cause problems due to excess back pressure on the exhaust system; e.g. poor starting.
So I suggest that first you measure the effective 'transom' height of the motor mounting, refer to manufacturers data and ensure you get the right shaft length.
Regards Mike
