Hmm , clubs mooring offiver has suggested double 22mm strops, but have measured the fairleads this morning and the free gap is about 13mm. I don't fancy putting on big fairleads much. Is there an alternative?

Since my boat broke off it's mooring last year (sawing straight through two brand new 14mm mooring strops!) I have now swapped over to chains with a rope loop for going onto the cleat. I suspect most of us have the same problems of small fairleads...in fact I have none and so I currently use the bow roller and pin to secure the primary strop and lash the secondary line alongside it with Dyneema.

I've ordered 18mm Octoplat from Jimmy Green on their recommendation. Asked anoter Charisma owner and he uses 14mm,

OK, so now you've figured out how to get your 18 legged Octopus through a 13mm gap? Is that wearing a PVC dress (for anti chafe too? ) ;D
