......cowaring below deck out of the rain! Yes I am in the Caribbean, but there's a stalled cold front on us so...... Was meant to do the Dark & Stormy Regatta on Chiron, our Achilles 7 metre, but all the forecasts were for rain and gusty winds. To add insult to injury, what was forecast to be a light downwind to Anegada (16nm North of Tortola) looked like a 16+knot beat. No problem, except the Sunday Lay Day was going to be wet (and it was/is) and return is still meant to be gusting 30+ knots tomorrow. So......I single handed to Norman Island on Friday in a light Southerly and the wife joined me by the Willy T supply boat (Floating bar/restaurant) at 5.30pm. We stayed on the mooring till this morning, when we sctuttled back to West End, Tortola in anything from 5 to 27 knots upwind, carrying a reef and the no.3 jib. Now home, stretching the back out from crawling around like a Hobbit for 2 days, but with a very relaxed and big smile on my face, got to love small boat sailing, whether it's racing or enforced cruising!
