I am hoping to get over from Northern Ireland to do this race with my daughter, slumming it on an Beneteau Oceanis 50 belonging to my brother. We will be at Cowes over the weekend and would like to make contact with any mini tonner fanatic doing this race. Let me know if you will be there and where you will be, I don't know the Isle of Wight, but will do my best to make contact, will let you know where we will be berthed when I find out!

I think you've hit on a good idea there. I assume there will be a fair number of minitonners doing the RTI, maybe we could all meet up? Either the Fri night or Sun morning after the race? Any ideas welcome.

Don't think we'll be at Cowes this trip, skipper hasn't got a berth, we will be in Port Hamble on Friday preping Wo Ai Ni for race, our start time is 0540 hrs on Saturday morning,we might call in Cowes after race. Maybe see some of you guys next time we're over.

The Anchor in Cowes is the place to meet. How any of us will recognise eachother is quite another matter. See you all on the water.

Got back late last night from Port Hamble, rail/sail from early morning, it was an exhausting weekend but a thoroughly enjoyable one, unfortunately was unable to get to Cowes itself so did not have a chance to meet anyone. Skipper and Tactician were pleased with our result, elapsed time of 08:16:20, but snookered by our handicap, finished 603 overall, but not bad for a big fat overweight cruiser with a dysfunctional crew. Hope to get back later on in the year for other events so might hook up with you guys later. Congrats to all minitonners who finished and I hope you did better than us.
