The IRC conducted a survey to understand how/what would influence more yacht owners to apply for an IRC certificate and they included many Yacht Clubs. They have just published the results and their email giving details is as follows: "Thank you for taking the time to answer our online survey last winter relating to IRC Rating, the information that came out of the survey was very interesting. It has taken some time to collate and analyse the full results but these are now published on our website. You can link either from the News item on our home page www.rorcrating.com or use this direct link to the PDF report: www.rorcrating.com/images/stories/newsletter/gbrirc-committee/2012/gbr_irc_survey-report_2012.pdf
If you do not currently hold an IRC certificate because you would only like to do one or two events a year, you may be interested in our new initiative for 2013 of a Limited Validity certificate. You can find all the information on our website at: www.rorcrating.com/lv-tcc.html

I'd be interested to hear what you think of this survey and their solution.... Matt

Interesting reading. I like the idea of a temporary certifcate for the odd event. Can't help but think that a price drop in an annual certificate would help with general uptake.
