We've been talking for a while about a passage race, so would anyone like to do a race between the Solent and Poole, over the weekend of the Royal Wedding? It's April 29th, a Friday. The proposal is to meet up somewhere Friday (Beaulieu?) and start Saturday around 9.00 from a sensible line in the Solent, and race over to the entrance to Poole Harbour. Night in Poole, and then back as we feel. If full crews are an issue, single or double handed is a possibility.
I'll put up a prize for the winner, (don't expect too much...) and the real prize is for whoever is first to the bar.
As a single class event, it should be close racing and a good way to get the Poole boats involved too.
What does anyone think?

I'm tentative, if I can convince my partner to be my crew that is. As she'll be expecting to be entertained that weekend

Hi All,
I listed this event on the website as I know a few of us are keen to get this fun and informal Rally/event underway - However, I also think like me some of you are struggling to get your boats sorted and afloat....So, Any takers, or shall we postpone this for a weekend a little later on in the year?

I'm still planning to do the route on the original dates, partly to check it out when the rest of the boats are back in the water - no reason why we can't run twice... Also would be better with two boats
