I've been speaking to a Royal Southampton member about getting more mini-tonners in the Royal Southampton series' starting with the Frostbite Series which starts on 16th January.
They already have a Glass Onion and a Sonata which regularly enter with an E-boat in the pipeline.
Racing is open to all and there is a good social at their club house at Ocean Village afterwards.
The racing starts from After Barn buoy on Southampton Water which is a great sailing area for smaller boats with flatter water and consistant wind. It's also handy for the Hamble as well as moorings on the Itchen and the Test.

Yes, This racing looks really good and I've looked into the costs of taking my boat around there to get involved. Unfortunately, that's where the story's ended for me so far... It's too far to get round to from Pompey harbour, and more expensive than I can afford to berth up nearby. There is also a Yellow Limbo that is pictured on our gallery and sails against the Glass Onion (moored opposite Ocean Village normally). I always hoped they'd join the MT's - but they haven't done so yet! Anyone know how to contact them?

I know the one you mean. Apparently it won the RTIR a few years ago. I had a nodding aquaintance every time they used to sail past my Feeling 720 when we were also moored on the Itchen. I think those moorings belong to the little sailing club on the headland there but I am not sure.
