the guy who put them up has issues of seahorse from the mid 70s so im sure he has a load but other people are requesting other events to be scanned up aswell so might be bit cheeky asking him for a load on mt events

I have contacted this guy and asked if we can have copies of anything relevant to minitonners, as a resource for the class, to be accessed hopefully via the website when someone has time as volunteer class historian to organise it. He stated a problem in reducing files to 1mb to go on Sailing Anarchy as documents, if we can control our own archive then that's not an issue. He is sympathetic and will help but unsurprisingly won't commit to doing it by a certain date. If there isn't a volunteer to be class historian then I may be persuaded...

Hi Miniton folk
That's me posting the stuff on the Sailing Anarchy site, as Richard (Secondanita) has said we've agreed to liaise over the summer & I will pass on what I have that's relevant to the Mini Ton class.
This is mostly scans at a decent resolution of Seahorse Mini Ton Cup reports plus original brochures (if only you could buy a new boat now at those prices!) & other photos etc.
The Sailing Anarchy site allows a max of 1mb per post so scanned reports with several photos are a headache at a decent resolution, and few if any of the mainly US posters are that intersted in Minis anyway!

Thanks Ian. For all, I have downloaded everything that Ian has posted and would like to creat an archive which is available to all via the website. I have no idea how to achieve this, can Matt or anyone out there point me in the right direction? Another idea is to enhance the list of boats on the register with photos and other info - see the quarter ton website for inspiration. Included is a pic of Secondanita at the 1985 MTC with a just visible blotch on the side where microballoons were applied to get rid of illegal hollows before being allowed to race! I am going to be in UK for the whole of June, so the pretty Italian lady should be ready for MTC on August 17th. regards to all Richard

Could create a group on Facebooke and load info & pics up there if they cant be put on the site as an archive. Facebook might be easier to do and make it an open group.

Update on this topic. Ian has kindly sent me everything he found on a USB stick at hi-resolution (compared with the compressed data available previously). I will try to work out the best way to make this available to all. I expect to be back in UK within the next few weeks and can address this then. May be able to come down to Cowes on Aug 17th - where is everyone congregating (eg the night before)? Richard
