Guys, Would anyone be interested in the above regatta? This is normally a great event with a great tuen out of Sonata's and a few other mini tonners. I have competed for the last 5 years (onboard a Sun Odyssey 40) and won several times. I am very keen to take Blue Max (Limbo 6.6) this year. Thsi is being run 12-15 July. Let me know what you think! www.medwayyachtclub.com/2012keelboatregatta/regatta.pdf Rich

Hi Rich,
We'll be taking Festina Lente down to the Medway Regatta this summer. It would be great to see Blue Max there, we've never raced another Limbo 6.6 and would love the chance to do so, not to mention having a natter about set up etc over a beer. Last year's event was great fun, looking forward to it already.
Best Rob

Hi Rob,
I remember briefing talking to you briefl during last years event. I was on a Sun Odyssey 40.3 (Rollercoaster), also staying at Chatham. It would be good if we can get some more of the local Mini Tonners out. There is always a great turn out of Sonatas there.

Hi Rich,
Rollercoaster looked like big fun! It was the smell of bacon sandwiches wafting across the pontoon from your galley that really did us in though, the limbo being a bit spartan downstairs as you know.
Hope to see you there with Blue Max in July and hopefully a couple of East Coast minitonners. It's great water for these little yachts.
Best Rob

I think those days have gone now I will be in the Limbo!
What class did you race under last year?
Who else is up for this event? Surely there must be more than the two of us!

We raced in Division Three which I think covers all boats with spinnakers above a certain PY number.
Other boats in our class included a Hunter Medina, Contessa 26 and a well-prepared boat named Petite Fleur that won the division, the owner has carried out extensive mods and I'm not sure of the boat type.
Division 4 is, I believe, the same class but with a no spinnie declaration.
Greenwich yacht club should have a couple of boats there which fit the minitonner brief (our limbo + 1 or 2 Medinas) and we hope a Nic 32 might join the fun as well.

We raced against Petite Fleur several times and she always puts up a good fight.
We have another Limbo just join Benfleet but i very much doubt she will be up for racing.
Do you travel to any other regattas?

Not so far, we only started sailing the Limbo in Jan last year and don't have a road trailer so are still working out what's practical for us. We wanted to have a go at Burnham week this year but due to, er, domestic pressure, were required to make a choice between that event and the Medway as they are quite close together. We had such a blast at the Medway last year it was an easy choice to make this time round...
Would love to have a go at Burnham and Ramsgate weeks one day.
What about you?

Im going to do Medway but thats it this year. I was tempted with the Mini ton Cup but think that I may have to wait for next year. I have only just bought the boat and had 5 weeks to get it ready for the season. She gets launched tomorrow morning with our first local club race on Saturday.
I had a huge list of jobs to do and think I have just about got them all done.
I agree both Burnham and Ramsgate would be great events. maybe one day!

Good luck with the launch/race. Great to have another Limbo on the scene.
