What a Successful first Mini Ton event ! BIG CONGRATULATIONS! to Piers - an Outstanding effort and flying the flag for us all really high, by WINNING the overall regatta in the Limbo 'Blue Movie' Also, for doing such a superb job of looking after the rest of us and for being a great host. Well Done to Ant C and the crew of Energia - who proved how well E-boats (and Conquest 23's! ) can go and showed everybody there exactly what Mini Tonners are all about.....I'm sure they'll be back soon when the mast gets fixed up..... Wow! superb feat of 'Solo-sailing' by Ken Docherty, bringing 'Solo' up to the East Coast the hard way and with no Tiller Pilot.....Quite an inspiration to us. Also, Well done to Mike Lis and co. for putting in some solid consistent sailing results in some very testing conditions. I think this event proves we have started something really special here - so don't stand on the sidelines guys, get involved and you'll find Mini Tonner racing is fantastic close fun! Cheers Matt,
Yes it was a great weekend for us on Blue Movie, but also for the MiniTonners as a whole, the feedback I have had has been great here in Burnham and lots of people are asking about it. Really looking forward to seeing all you guys soon.
Ant, hope the boat is not too trashed and buddy you are fast, i'll be keeping an eye on you! Ken, what a great effort to get Solo to Burnham, your face at the prizegiving was a picture, hope you liked the East Coast welcome. Mike you know what to do, that headsail is shot to pieces, put the new one on!
To anyone else reading this, get your Minitonner out and come and play, it's a gas! Piers

Have just recieved the following from John Parker, who runs Quantum Sails East (Ex Partker & Kay), will try and get the full story.......
Dear Piers
Just a quick line to congratulate you on your IRC east coast champs win - well done!
This was a good regatta for boats racing with our sails, all three class winners and overall - difficult to improve on that!
Thanks for the pictures - I am as delighted as I imagine you are to see that the keel is still where it should be!!
At the beginning of my career I did a lot of mini-ton sailing (including a N.Sea crossing, as a first time navigator, in a Limbo 6.6 - target Ostend, arrived Niewport!!) and I've been following with interest the resurgence of the class.
Enjoy your weekend
Rgds John P
