You're obviously a man of taste and discrimination!
Welcome from 'Nitro' 9422Y
Which Intro have you bought and where do you intend to moor her? I've owned my Intro for a few years now so if I can be of any help, just ask.

I lost my rudder yesterday after running aground. we go towed off but the tow was in a force 4 and it was agressive. the rudder was lost right below the bottom mount bracket
i urgently need specifications/details/measurements of the rudder please so i can try and get a new one made up ASAP
thank you

Hi. I'm a new intro owner too. I'm not going to be at my boat for a couple of weeks so can't get you any dimensions for the rudder till then. If you still don't have any by then let me know.

Just measured mine up...
Bottom section as per dimensions on P29 of Sonata rules... additional info the rudder appears to be 1830mm top to bottom and as for the narrower section "out of the water" it would seem to 300mm width at the midline tapering to 160mm at the top (where the tiller would attach). My rudder appears to have been fashioned from a SOLID single piece of teak 50mm width throughout then shaped into a foil.
Hope this helps.
I think Hunter boats or Milanes foils have them stock (at a price) I had considered just replacing mine at first but as no supplier in Eire I just took mine back to the wood and started again but even that set me back about €150+ in materials. (Filler/Primer/Undercoat/Topcoat & 2 types of Thinners)

so i could buy a sonata rudder and it should fit an intro?
otherwise the blokes down the club said they could build if from polyurethane.
is that strong enough?
